Edward A. Landry is a senior partner with the
law firm of Musick, Peeler & Garrett in Los,
Angeles, California. His forty year career with
the firm includes specialization in its probate
and trust department and he has handled the estates
of many prominent Californians, such as the late
J. Paul Getty.
In addition to his work with Musick, Peeler & Garrett,
Landry is involved in many career related activities
and has lectured at UCLA Law School, California
Continuing Education of the Bar, USC Estate Planning
Institute, American College of Trust and Estate
Counsel, and various other programs and institutes.
He is a member of the American, California and
Los Angeles Bar Associations. Landry has served
as a member of the CEB-UCLA Estate Planning Institute
advisory board, the American College of Trust
and Estate Counsel, and the Chancery Club. He
has also been an adjunct professor of law at
UCLA Law School. He has appeared in Best Lawyers
in America, Who’s Who in California, and
International Who’s Who.
Landry is a Knight of St. Gregory, a Knight of
Malta and sits on the board of The Watson Land
Company. He is also a member of the California
Club and the Bohemian Club. He is a trustee of
the Dan Murphy Foundation, the Flora L. Thornton
Foundation, Harvey Mudd College, the Jaquelin
Hume Foundation, Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Gardens,
and the Walter Lantz Foundation. He has served
as director of the Estelle Doheny Eye Institute,
the Foundation for Teaching Economics, the Los
Angeles Music Center Opera, and the Watson Land
Company.
Landry is a food and wine conoisseur and a member
of the Chevalier du Tastevin, the Commanderie
du Bordeaux, the California Vintage Wine Society,
the Southern California Food and Wine Association,
The California Eight, The Best Bottle Society,
the Chablis Society and the Alsacian Wine Society.
He has appeared as a guest chef at the California
Club and at several well known Los Angeles restaurants.
Landry is a native of New Orleans. He earned
his bachelor’s degree in business administration,
with honors, from Louisiana State University
in 1961. He received his law degree from UCLA
in 1964, where he was law school student body
president, a member of the UCLA Law Review, and
elected Order of the Coif. Landry has been married
for 42 years to Madeleine Landry. They have two
daughters, three grandchildren and live in Santa
Susana, California.
