Jan Jobe is president and CEO of Pan-American Life Insurance
Company. New Orleans-based Pan-American Life has been a leading
international financial services and insurance company for greater
than 90 years. Founded in 1911, Pan-American employs more than 1,500
worldwide, providing top-rated life insurance, pension and financial
products. Currently licensed in 42 states, the District of Columbia,
as well as Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, its international
operations include affiliates in Panama, Guatemala and Colombia, and
branch offices in Ecuador, El Salvador and Honduras.
Jobe considers his primary responsibility as the CEO of Pan-American
Life to be the chief employee and customer advocate. He believes all
the company's organizational initiatives are primarily carried out
for the purpose of improving performance for the benefit of the
customer. That customer focus is only achieved through a creative
employee spirit, which leads to innovative customer solutions.
Jobe holds a BS from Miami University of Ohio. Before joining
Pan-American, Jobe spent 23 years with The Principal Financial
Group, where he served as President from 1990-1998. Prior to
1990, he served in various sales and sales management positions
within the company. He serves on the E. J. Ourso College of
Business' Executive Advisory Board, and is a member of the Board of
Directors of the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association
(LIMRA), the New Orleans Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Bureau of
Governmental Research, the United Way, INROADS and WYES. His
community organizational activities are focused on improving
education and building a better business community.
