Kimberlee DeBosier is a founder and President of
Bayside Engineering, Inc. Bayside Engineering, Inc.
offers civil, transportation, geo-technical, and
construction engineering inspection throughout Florida.
The company was formed in 1995 by Kim and two colleagues,
and has grown to a staff of thirty-three. Kim earned
a B.S. from Michigan State University in 1977 in
civil engineering, with emphasis in structural design
and analysis and a cognate in management. She worked
in structural and general civil engineering for
ten years, during which time she earned an MBA at
LSU, and became a registered professional engineer
in 1981. Kim moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1987,
distinguishing herself as the first female engineer
in each of the offices in which she worked. She
became the first technical female to be named Vice
President of the largest Florida-based consulting
engineering firm in the area. She stays quite involved
in her community and profession and has held leadership
positions in various engineering societies. Kim
currently serves as: Chair of the Tampa-Hillsborough
County Expressway Authority; Board Member of the
Metropolitan Planning Organization; President of
the MacDonald Training Center (for disabled adults);
and Small Firm Director of the Florida Institute
of Consulting Engineers.
