James E. Maurin will speak to LSU MBA students in
the Spring 2001 James C. and Cherie H. Flores MBA
Distinguished Speaker
Series on February 16, 2001. He is a founder and
currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of Stirling Properties, Inc., a nationally
recognized real estate services firm. Since its
founding in 1975, Stirling Properties has grown
into one of the largest real estate services companies
in the Gulf South, handling asset and property management,
marketing research, leasing, tenant representation,
project management, brokerage, facilities management,
appraisal, and consulting services for both commercial
and residential properties.
Maurin is a member of the International Council
of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the Urban Land Institute,
the World Presidents' Organization, and the Louisiana
Committee of 100. He is the Vice President of the
Southern Division of the ICSC and a member of its
Board of Trustees. He is a past ICSC Louisiana State
Director, and a member of the Small Center Committee
and the Government Relations Committee. Ernst &
Young recently named Maurin the 2000 Entrepreneur
of the Year in real estate.
Maurin's lecture will begin at 10am and will be
held at the LSU Lod Cook Alumni Center at 3838 W.
