Eddie J. Jones
President, Miami Dolphins

Eddie J. Jones, in his 34th season in the NFL, was named President and Chief Operating Officer of the Dolphins (January, 1996) after serving as the team’s Executive Vice President and General Manager (1990-95) and as Vice President of administration and finance (1988-89). He directs the business operation of the Dolphins and represents the team at all National Football League meetings. He began his NFL career as a business manager of the Saints in 1968 and subsequently served as the team’s President and Chief Operating officer (1982-1985). Jones began his professional career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co. upon graduation from LSU in 1963 with a degree in accounting. He has received numerous honors for his contributions to both the Dolphins organization and the South Florida community. Eddie currently serves on the NFL’s Employee Benefits Committee and is a Trustee of the Bert Bell player pension plan. The Dolphins players unanimously honored Jones in 1999 with a special courage award from the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation, which recognizes individuals in the NFL who display courage in the face of adversity.
