James M. Bernhard, Jr., is the founder of The Shaw
Group, Inc. (NYSE: SGR), the largest supplier of
fabricated piping systems in the United States and
one of the world's leading suppliers of integrated
piping systems and services for new construction,
site expansion, and retrofit projects.
Bernhard has served as president, CEO, and director
of The Shaw Group since its inception in 1987, and
he has served as the chairman since 1990. The Shaw
Group was honored as company of the year in the
"100 or more employees" category of the
Baton Rouge Business Awards and Hall of Fame 2000.
Bernhard was named as one of the Top 10 Chief Executive
Officers by the Greater Baton Rouge Business
Report in 1993.
He serves on the Committee of 100 for the state
of Louisiana and is a member of the Associated General
Contractors, the American Welding Society, the Associated
Building Contractors, and the Member Pipe Fabricators
Institute. Bernhard was selected as a 1994 Marketer
of the Year, was honored as a 1995 Entrepreneur
of the Year in Louisiana, and received the 1997
Corporate Champions for Children Award. |
