The primary goals of launch are to help classmates bond quickly and to establish the skill set
necessary to succeed as MBA students. The Flores MBA program is small, and a large majority of the work requires teams
to function cohesively. The characteristics of the program make it essential that you be able to "hit the ground running" once you arrive
in Baton Rouge, and having an established network of classmates makes the transition easier.
During launch students meet fellow classmates, the Dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business, the MBA faculty and staff, second-year MBA mentors, and some MBA alumni. Orientation activities are designed to familiarize classmates with the inner workings of the program and numerous resources that are available through LSU.
In addition to the first year team building and classroom activities,
Launch includes a number of important social events. Students
meet for the MBA Launch Dinner at Juban's Restaurant.
Several alumni are introduced, providing students a chance to learn
from them about the employment experiences they had as Flores MBA
graduates.
The Annual MBA Faculty Lunch provides an opportunity for new students
to mingle with their new professors and classmates. The week concludes with a Back-to-School
social, hosted by the MBA Association. Faculty, staff, and students
are invited to relax and unwind for a couple of hours, and most
of all to have a great time with all of their new friends!
